Welcome to Prettyboy Elementary
Preparing students to become critical thinkers, effective communicators, collaborative learners and creative, caring citizens.
Prettyboy Elementary 4th graders, Madi and Caroline created a rap and poster to send a message of strength against bullying. This year Prettyboy Elementary has joined with schools in the Hereford Zone to promote positive behavior and anti-bullying using the mantra, “Bulls Don’t Bully”.
Message from the Principal:
Prettyboy Elementary School is located in north central Baltimore County in Freeland, Maryland. The school was dedicated in 1931 and originally named Sixth District Consolidated School for students in grades one through eight. In 1972, the school was renamed Prettyboy Elementary, after the nearby reservoir. Prettyboy Elementary serves over 450 students in kindergarten through fifth grade. It is a Maryland Green School. The mascot is the Prettyboy pony and the school color is forest green. Prettyboy Elementary demonstrates outstanding student achievement as a result of exceptional instruction of exemplary teachers and the support of devoted and involved parents. The students and staff enjoy the benefits of a close working relationship with the Prettyboy PTA and the local Recreation Council. The mission of Prettyboy Elementary is to prepare students to be college and career ready; as critical thinkers, effective communicators, collaborative learners, and creative and caring citizens. The staff and community have established a strong partnership to ensure that all students become contributing members of a technologically dynamic and globally diverse society.
